METAL ROOFSPREPARATIONRemove all loose and flaking paint.High pressure water jet to clean and remove all chalking painted areas, and allow to dry. Previously painted roofs Prime exposed surfaces with one coat of WeatherPrufe Etch Primer. Allow to dry for 4 hours. Apply two suitable top coats as listed below at 4 hour intervals. UNPAINTED ROOFSDegrease new galvanized roof sheets using WeatherPrufe Tornado (Water Based Degreaser).Rinse off well using clean water and allow to dry. Prime using one coat of WeatherPrufe Etch Primer and allow to dry for 4 hours. Apply two suitable top coats as listed below at 4 hour intervals. Prime coat: Etch Primer (spread rate 8 – 10 sqm per litre) Top coat: Adhesion Promoted Acrylic Roof Paint (spread rate 8 – 10 sqm per litre) Pure Acrylic Roof Paint (spread rate 8 – 10 sqm per litre) WeatherKlad Pure Acrylic (spread rate 6 – 8 sqm per litre) Degreaser: Tornado Water-Based Degreaser Flat surface area needs to be calculated taking into account the profile of the roof sheets or tiles. |
