PREVIOUSLY COATED CEMENT FLOORPREPARATIONRemove all loose and flaking paint.Wash floor with WeatherPrufe Tornado and allow to dry. Rinse off well with clean water and allow to dry. DETERMINE WHETHER SINGLE OR TWIN PACK HAS BEEN USEDWet a clean white rag with Lacquer Thinners and rub a section of the floor vigorously (10 times in each direction).If the paint has been dissolved, the current coating on the floor is a single pack coating and should be redecorated with the same. Should this however need to be recoated with a twin pack coating, ALL the existing coating needs to be removed completely before the application of a new system. SINGLE PACK RECOATINGSand down to an even matt finish and remove all dust.Spot prime exposed screed with WeatherPrufe Masonry Primer and allow to dry for 4 hours. Apply two coats of WeatherPrufe Polyurethane Stoep Paint, at a spread rate not exceeding 8 – 10sqm per litre per coat, both coats thinned with 5% mineral turpentine, allowing 8 hours drying time in between coats. Allow 24 hours drying time after the final coat has been applied before re-use of the area. PLEASE NOTE: CURING TIME IS TEMPERATURE DEPENDANT The area should be well ventilated during the application and drying process. TWIN PACK EPOXY RECOATINGAfter determining that the existing coating system is a twin pack material:Sand down to an even matt finish and remove all dust well. If spot priming of exposed screed is required, add catalyst to the base, stir well and allow 15 minutes reaction time before application. Thin the catalyzed product 10% with epoxy thinners, and apply. Allow 24 hours (BUT NOT LONGER THAN 48 HRS) drying time. Apply one unthinned top-coat of WeatherPrufe Twin Pack Epoxy, at a spread rate not exceeding 8 – 10sqm per litre. Allow 24 hours drying time. Apply final top-coat of WeatherPrufe Twin Pack Epoxy, at above spread rate. Please note: This system requires 7 consecutive days to fully cure at floor temperatures above 8 degrees Celsius. TWIN PACK POLYURETHANE RECOATINGSame procedure as Twin Pack Epoxy, excepting that Twin Pack Polyurethane Thinners is used to thin the prime coat.NO HEAVY TRAFFIC OR WASHING OF THE FLOOR SHOULD BE ALLOWED BEFORE FLOOR FULLY CURED |
