PAINTING OF TIMBER SURFACES

PREPARATION

Sand down all surfaces to be painted to a smooth finish.
Dust off well

UNCOATED TIMBER SURFACES

Apply one coat of WeatherPrufe Wood Primer and allow to dry for 6 hours.
Apply two coats of WeatherPrufe Gloss Enamel at spread rate below, allowing 6 hour intervals in between coats.
If a water-based top coat is to be applied, allow 48 hours between priming and applying top coats.

PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES

Sand down to an even matt finish.
Spot prime exposed timber with one coat of WeatherPrufe Wood Primer and allow to dry for 6 hours.
Apply two coats of WeatherPrufe Gloss Enamel at spread rate below, at 6 hourly intervals.
If a water-based top coat is to be applied, allow 48 hours between priming and applying top coats.

Prime coat:
WeatherPrufe Wood Primer (spread rate approx 8 – 10 sqm per litre)

Top coat options:
Enamels (spread rate approx 8 – 10 sqm)
WeatherKlad Pure Acrylic (spread rate 6 – 8 sqm)
